The Women’s Affordable Housing Network is the ONLY national nonprofit organization that focuses on promoting women’s empowerment and workplace equity for all individuals in the affordable housing industry. We aim to:
Our Vision is to build a national network of people with a shared passion for affordable housing, the empowerment of women, and equity in the workplace for all.
About UsOur objective is to establish a presence in every state / region by creating a chapter to facilitate idea exchange and expand professional networks. This will lead to improved quality of homes and services for residents of affordable housing, as well as greater opportunities to connect qualified candidates with top companies in the industry. Additionally, women in the industry will receive widespread support from our allies across the country.
We concentrate our efforts and programs towards keeping the industry up-to-date on the latest policies, instructing them on effective advocacy methods to guarantee that residents of affordable housing received top-notch housing and supportive services. We also focus on promoting professional growth for those already working in the affordable housing industry and introducing careers in affordable housing to college students and residents of affordable housing.
WAHN promotes and honors diversity, equity and inclusion for all in the workplace by raising awareness of issues through thoughtful discussion and solutions-based initiatives designed to drive change. We celebrate women for their leadership, innovation, and valuable contributions to our industry and we show gratitude to our village of women and allies who helped us along the way. There is room for everyone at the table.
There’s an energy around WAHN women and their allies that is palpable. WAHN is for real people who want to learn and grow and celebrate each other, and while we always aim to educate, raise awareness and establish meaningful connections at our events, we are always ourselves. We hope to see you at our next one.
